SINE coverage for emergency communications

In many countries, emergency services “piggyback” on conventional mobile networks with a special network reserved for them to ensure they have the necessary bandwidth when needed.

Spotty, unreliable mobile communications can have dangerous consequences when firefighters, paramedics and police officers need to communicate and collaborate with each other in connection with an accident or fire in a building or other type of disaster site where the signal is weak – or even completely absent.

What is SINE?

SINE (SAFETY NET) is the common, digital radio communication system used by the Danish emergency services. It provides an effective basis for coordination and cooperation between the various public safety organizations and emergency services in daily operations as well as in emergencies, natural disasters and terrorist attacks.

When firefighters, paramedics and police officers communicate on this special shared network, it may be necessary to amplify the signal in certain areas – such as buildings, basements and tunnels.

The best way to do that is with an effective DAS system.

THEIR + THEIR

The concept of DAS (Distributed Antenna System) refers to an indoor antenna system that provides coverage throughout or part of a building. The system is connected to the special Danish SINE system for emergency communications, either by means of a standalone base unit or a repeater.

KM Telecom can perform special measurements to determine whether there is a practical need to establish a DAS system on site to ensure effective SINE communication.

SINE can be a stand-alone solution. But it can also be connected to existing DAS solutions as shown in the picture here. This will save you money and you only need to create one solution instead of two.
