DAS system – professional solution for indoor mobile coverage
A DAS system (Distributed Antenna System) is a professional DAS solution for better mobile coverage indoors in buildings where the public mobile network does not provide sufficient coverage or capacity - or where poor mobile coverage is experienced indoors.
Modern construction with concrete, steel and energy-efficient windows significantly limits signal penetration. At the same time, high user load in office buildings, hospitals, production environments and public institutions places demands on stability and capacity in the indoor mobile infrastructure – including SINE coverage where required.
A properly designed DAS solution distributes the mobile signal via an internal DAS system of antennas in the building and ensures:
- Consistent signal strength
- Stable connection
- High load capacity
- Predictable performance throughout the building
- Possibility of integration of SINE network
At KM Telecom, we work with DAS design, DAS installation and DAS consultancy as a specialized discipline within mobile infrastructure. As an experienced DAS supplier, we design and deliver DAS systems that are correctly designed and documented – so that indoor mobile coverage works stably from day one and can be verified upon delivery.
“People expect high-quality wireless signal reception everywhere.”
Competencies and services – DAS systems
At KM Telecom, we work with DAS installations and tailored DAS solutions as a specialized discipline within mobile infrastructure and indoor mobile coverage. As an experienced DAS supplier, we handle the entire process – from DAS consulting and analysis of poor indoor mobile coverage to design, DAS installation, testing, documentation and subsequent DAS service 24/7 and DAS operation 24/7.
We design, implement and service both simple and complex DAS solutions – adapted to building type, load, operator conditions and requirements for SINE coverage.
Our services include, among others:
- DAS design and planning of DAS systems
- Active DAS
- Passive DAS
- Hybrid DAS
- Connection and coordination in relation to the mobile operators' signal
- Analysis of existing indoor mobile coverage and DAS installations
- Capacity and coverage calculations
- Implementation and DAS installation
- Analysis follow-up and system design
- SINE installation, SINE service and SINE systems (TETRA / SINE / LTE)
- Sniffer and NOC monitoring
- DAS service 24/7 and DAS operation 24/7
- Upgrading and optimization of existing DAS installations and DAS systems
All our DAS solutions are designed in accordance with the minimum requirements of the Danish Teleindustrien. This ensures that indoor mobile coverage, SINE networks and DAS installations meet the standards expected in professional projects.
The solutions are adapted to the building's construction, use and load - and are designed with a focus on both current and future needs for better mobile coverage indoors.
Precision, quality and responsibility – all the way (DAS)
A DAS system for indoor mobile coverage is critical infrastructure. That's why we work methodically and documented throughout the entire process – from DAS consulting and DAS design to DAS installation, testing and documented handover.
As an experienced DAS supplier, we often act as a specialist partner for contractors or electrical installers and handle the DAS solution independently. This ensures that the mobile infrastructure and the entire DAS system are correctly integrated into the overall contract – without ambiguities or gray areas.
All DAS installations and DAS systems are tested and documented according to applicable requirements and project specifications, so that indoor mobile coverage and capacity can be verified upon delivery - even where there has previously been poor indoor mobile coverage.
We don't just deliver a DAS system - we deliver a documented DAS solution that works in practice and is technically up to the mark.
After commissioning, we offer DAS service 24/7 and DAS operation 24/7, where the performance, capacity and stability of your DAS system are continuously monitored and maintained.
The result is better indoor mobile coverage – stable, measurable and future-proof – without compromise.

Frequently asked questions about DAS systems (FAQ)
What is a DAS system and when is it the right solution?
A DAS (Distributed Antenna System) is a network of smaller antennas distributed throughout the building and connected to a central signal source by coaxial cable or fiber. The solution is used in two situations:
- Lack of mobile signal: large office buildings, hospitals, underground parking garages, tunnels and buildings with many floors or thick partitions.
- Lack of capacity: stadiums, arenas, conference centers, airports, and shopping malls. Here there is enough signal, but too many users because thousands of phones need to go online at the same time.
What is the difference between analog and digital DAS?
- Analog DAS transmits the radio signal directly through coaxial cables. Simple to build, but the signal attenuates over distance, which places a limit on the size of the building.
- Digital DAS, also called dDAS, converts the signal into data and sends it over fiber to antenna units that themselves amplify the signal. It eliminates distance loss, is easier to expand, and provides better opportunities to monitor individual units.
Can a DAS system run with only one operator?
Yes. The system can be set up for one operator only, if that is the one your employees and tenants use. The advantage of a DAS is that the cables, antennas and locations are designed specifically for your building, regardless of who supplies the signal. If you change operators later, only the operator's own equipment in the technical room needs to be replaced. The infrastructure in the building remains as it is.
Why do we have to pay for a DAS system ourselves?
There are two ways. Either the mobile operator sets up the system and takes the money from the subscription. Then the system is theirs, and if you cancel the agreement, they take it down again. This rarely happens because it becomes too expensive.
Or you buy the system yourself. Then it's yours, and that gives you three things:
- You will get the coverage you requested.
- You can change mobile operator whenever you want, even when the subscriptions are up for auction.
- You only pay once.
How is approval handled by Danish mobile operators?
We handle the entire dialogue with the operators, from design to application to technical integration and commissioning. The plant must meet the operators' technical requirements and measurement requirements (KPIs) before they give the signal for it. Because we know the process and requirements in advance, you avoid the delay that otherwise occurs when a completed plant has to be rebuilt for approval.
Can a DAS system be reused when new technology becomes available?
Yes, if it is designed correctly. The passive part, i.e. cables, routing paths and antennas, typically has a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. The signal source and the main units, the so-called head-end, can be replaced or upgraded separately, so that a switch to a new technology generation does not require new cabling in the building.
Can SINE be integrated into a DAS system?
Yes. We can adapt the infrastructure to the frequencies that the emergency services' own radio network operates on (SINE, built on the TETRA standard), so that police, fire departments and ambulances can communicate indoors. In new construction and major renovations, the authorities often require exactly this. The requirement should be clarified early in the design process, because it affects both the number and location of antennas.
